In an on-line article for EC&M magazine, Mike Holt shows a Figure with
L!, L2, N and calculates the neutral current to be equal to the current
in either one of the balanced 2-phase wires. The reference is to
"NEC 220.22.
I don't find this article in NEC.
I don't understand how this can be applied to a HVAC unit , say
208-1 Ph., with equal phase loading, with the load equipment
providing terminals for L1, L2, and GND.? (no neutral wire)
 
Not sure what you want to know. If there is no neutral than you have a different situation , I suppose, from what the article is talking about. You have a link or title to the article, date, year, etc
