I coulda swore that I saw a code stating that all disconnects are required to have a neutral pulled to them weather the neutral is used or not.

I cant find that code anymore and the question has rissen in our shop. Can someone point that code to me or am I mistaken ?

For a feeder to a disconnect switch I cannot give you code reference because there isn't one. There are conditions however where a service will require a grounded conductor to be brought to it.

Are you thinking about 300.20 perhaps?

Trevor is correct, it is only for Service Equipment, see 250.24(C)
