I am installing 30amp hand dryers in an office building. Can I use a #10 white as the neutral for 2- circuits in one pipe or do I need to run a neutral for each circuit?

Re: Neutral conductor

Ron: Do you question this multi-wire Edison system due to the 30 amp rating on 120 volt equipment?.

Re: Neutral conductor

Yes, you can use a common neutral for this, as long as you are feeding from different phases (sorry if you already know that)

Depending on the service feeding this, the neutral may or may not need to be counted as a current carrying conductor.

120/240 single phase service the neutral will not be a current carrying conductor.

120/208 3 phase wye service the neutral will be a current carrying conductor because you are only using 2 of the 3 ungrounded conductors.

Look to 2002 NEC 310.15(B)(4)(a)(b)(c) for info on this.
