Gang:

I’m installing a feeder from a 150A Homeline service panel to a new 125A sub panel, and running into problems making up the 100A, 2AWG neutral. The first mystery is that although the sticker in the service panel explicitly lists an LK100AN lug kit for this purpose, when I try to install it atop the neutral bar, it won’t fit due to interference with the adjacent plastic components, visible to the left of the bar in this image:

Has anyone else run into this? Forcing it is clearly not the answer. The new panel (also Homeline) has a much larger gap adjacent to the neutral bar, which would fit the lug fine, so I’m wondering if there has been some significant change in design over the last 20 years.

While trying to come up with alternatives, I noticed that the service neutral lug seems to be a dually:

While this looks perfect for my purposes, I can’t find a listing or anything like it in the Homeline catalog. Any thoughts on its purpose? All suggestions welcome.

Cheers,
Tim
