At complete risk of being called lazy again in here here goes. Can anyone give me the specific code reference number for the neutral no other paths rule(parallel paths)I have an inspector that wants me to bond the neutral in an exisiting panel in a bungalow. This bungalow is being fed from about 50 ft away from an all in one meter base and disconnect that has the neutral bonded at that point. The feeders then go in pvc underground to the house panel. She said she looked all over the panel for the bonding screw or jumper and could not find it. No wonder when this unit was done 20 yrs ago it was done correctly and was not bonded of course at the panel but rather at the service disconnect.

250.24(A)(5) Load-Side Grounding Connections. A grounding connection shall not be made to any grounded circuit conductor on the load side of the service disconnecting means except as otherwise permitted in this article.

Re: neutral no other paths

Lets see what there is a combo meter 50 ft from a structure that has a panel with a bonded neutral and then it goes to a secondary panel. As long as it is fed in a 4 wire system with a isolated ground what is the code violation ?
Unless the inspector sees the first point of entry when it exits a slab from the meter as an extended back to back service then the bonded neutral would be a pressing matter I.M.O.If there is a disc at the meter that is the primary panel and any panels run after that,They have to have the 4 wire isolated system to be code compliant.
