Hi,

Can anybody verify or correct the following concern brought up from a customer here in California...

They said that they were told that there is a new rule that if doing an MPU, it cannot be on the wall of a living space.

Trying to get clarification or verification...

Thanks in advance!

Probably PG&E remembering to enforce something that has been on their greenbook for a while. (See this recent thread.) To my knowledge there is no new California Electrical code requirement that came into force this year that is relevant.

Not really a PV question, by the way.

Thanks for the reply...

Sorry about being in the PV forum. It's just that I'm with an installer of PV. We run into MPU situations all of the time with PV...

Anybody else have knowledge of such a requirement? (new MSP cannot be on a wall of living space)

If you asking if a meter can be located on a living space wall of a dwelling the answer is, yes it can. You can NOT locate a meter on a bedroom wall.
