No not new guys on the jobsite....
I mean actual NEW boots. I was wondering what methods ya'll used to "break in" a new pair. The method I use is to put on the boots and go to a DIY car wash and take the nozzle to them -get them good and wet and let them dry while they are on your feet. This lets them conform to your feet as they dry. After they are dry, take them off and give 'em a good rub down of some good waterproofing oil, balm, salve, or whatever. This method gets the boots formed to your foot and waterproofs them.
When the oil ( or whatever) is dry, they are ready to go.

Also, I like to put the polyurethane exterior 'toe caps' on them.
Let me know what ya'll do.
I have a new pair and was wondering if anybody else had any better tips or methods.

Don;t you have water at home? Maybe skip the new boots and save up for a well. :D

Red Wing guys always told me break-in takes two pair of boots, old pair & new, alternating 1-4 hours each day, if possible without blisters. Man-made materials require less break in, but also breed bacteria.

In warm climates if boots can't breath, feet stay wet all day, bacteria eats insoles, materials, and man. Most boots stay moist, so pulling insoles out overnight may supplement the 24-hr drying time with alternate sets of boots.

Thick rubber flip flops for $0.99 cents deteriorate slower than insoles that cost $25+, and imported Morino wool keep feet dry for a while, but a short while without air circulation.

Ir they are Red Wings, just put them on and go.

Ditto that. Unless they send these overseas or go out of business, I'll never buy another brand of boots. I do waterproof them - but as Mdshunk said - no hocus pocu here either.

I wear wolverines. Never tried red wings. seems more people like red wings in the north and people in the south like wolverines.

No 'trench' feet here. and I've always wanted a boot dryer. ...:D
