New Clamp

Not clicking that link, but are these the ones that are like a hose clamp? They're kind of expensive. I'll keep the regular strut clamps thanks.

They only grab on one side of the strut so I'm guessing that the old style clamps with 4 points of contact are much stronger.

Also now that I think of it, this seems actually worse than the superstrut 1 piece style clamps that have the bolt on top. If you have a rack of pipes all next to each other the sideways screw on the hose clamp thing might be hard to get to no? Also I wonder if these strip out like a hose clamp does.

Hose clamps are terrible to tighten by hand so I would imagine that this adaptation is no better.

I agree that the old style would be stronger, and also more rigid. In addition to the possibility of this new type stripping out, it relies on a spot weld to attach the threaded strap to the part that hooks on the strut. A possible failure point.
