New code requires a metered disconnect

So I am going to do a service since the new code, I’ve done plenty of metered disco combos using the combo with 200amp breaker.

1. I was wondering is there a combo that is a fuse less disconnect.

2. I usually do a main lug panel now being that I have a 200 amp breaker as my main disconnect outside. But this client wants a 30 amp plug outside for standby genny. So now having to need an I teocm for said plug(30amp breaker) I can’t see how I’d do it without having a main breaker panel. But seems redundant and waste of money.

Im trying clarify the writing of 230.85

Does the disconnect need to be a ocpd type

Cause if not I guess I could do meter base to useless outdoor disco to 200 amp main breaker panel to accommodate interlock , that would be ugly on a house tho imo, these codes are getting ridiculous if u ask me

Some areas have using outside meter combos for years as they can pull a ckt for hvac outside unit. But the code language is not 100% clear, there are many posts on this, do some research here to help

I always do a meter main feed through combo. Easy to put a generator interlock in there. No main breaker needed in main panel.
