I haven't done many homes in the last 10 years. Nephew is building and asked for a bid. It would most likely be the last home if I do it.
I gave my take off to another EC and will submit it, unopened, along with mine. Its a relatively small simple home but is still one of the most expensive I've priced. Nephew does not need screwed by Uncle and Uncle does not want to.

While talking to the other EC, we discussed a residential project that had a $125,000 bid for wiring. How big is that home? Note my location, it is not on any coast.

KCMO I can't imagine any home less than 6,000 square feet. That would be roughly $20/sf and would have all manner of custom lighting, pool, theater, elevator, heated driveway, 600 amp service and the likes

I've never bid one like that, but I wired a lot of them when I worked for a big shop.

I also can't imagine any home more that 15,000 square feet. That would be a big basic house at $8/sf. I've wired one of those, too. 2 story with a 3rd floor observation room. Nothing special at all except probably still a 600 amp service
