Hello can anyone give me some good study hints on this exam. I have taken it 3 times and get frustrated at the way they ask some really off the wall code questions and it takes forever to find them. How do you prepare for that? I know its not supposed to be easy, but the last test i took in april was one of the most baffiling exams i have seen? Someone help please! Show me the right path!

I've posted this before and I'll post it again, buy Mike Holt's Exam prep book. In the first chapter is some very good info about studing and more importantly how to take tests. The info on how to take a test saved my butt when I took my test. If you buy the exam prep book, study it and do the questions, look them up this will provide you with the skills to find the info. As for the off the wall questions, I remember that there were some non NEC related questions would would just have to know.

If you use a prep book, and I would highly recommend this, it is important to understand how they got from the question to the answer. Understanding the answer from the answer key is not sufficient.

Can you recite each article heading through to at least 500? without looking, what does article 320 through 340 cover? are they alphabetical? It really helps to be able to know what article to go to when asked a question about trash compactors without having to fumble around with the index or contents. As mentioned earlier, look the answers up. some answers come from 3 or 4 different places in the book. Know where to go.
