New job potentially

Hi everyone I just got the the word that I was the chosen candidate for the an electrician with a NYC agency. On the interview the guys were telling me the mostly do motor controls vfds plcs magnetic starters limit switches and equipment that control draw bridges and things of that nature. Does anyone that is familiar with these types of systems have any advice on reading materials for things of this nature

Look up PLC Professor on YouTube. Grab a strong cup of coffee before hand. He's a little monotone, but some great information. Go ahead and buy a micro Logix and build a trainer. He'll tell you how to do it. Make sure to get one that uses the free software.

How familiar are you with relay logic? Can you read motor control schematics? I'd YouTube that also. There are some great videos.


Good luck on your new job! It sounds pretty interesting
