$35K. Best guesstimate. But it's +/-$25k.

I don't know. What do you pay your help? Benefits? Bonuses? Shop? Work out of your house? New trucks? Beat up raggity trucks? No trucks at all, only station wagons? How far from office/shop/house? What time of year for the project? Summer? Winter? Service overhead or underground?

I could run this list for another page or so. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

If you do a ton of new work and pay $9 for a recessed light/trim/lamp vs. $22, you can make a huge difference there.

Good luck.

Don't forget the dog in the pick-up.Front seat or back in the bed of the truck.Large rottwieller or small mutt?

Take your time. Do your own takeoff. Compute you labor, markup, overhead and profit. You are the only one that can put that number together. Good luck!

I'd say. Where can you get a recessed can, trim, and lamp for $9? That $22 price is the ballpark I operate in.

Put in about 10,000 a year, and you'll get that price. We don't do that many, but guys I know do and that's what they pay.

$9 is about what we deal with them for.Like you said we buy by the truckload. They have even throw in free bulbs to get the order.

Sounds like about $16,000.

Where is the OP located? Profile doesn't say. If he's in Chicago area, everything is in EMT. $16,000 would lose you much money.

Micky, emahlar did give some good advice. But, I think he failed to mention one thing. The companies that do a large volume of work for dirt cheap prices don't normally break stride to wire just one house ( they can't make payroll by doing individual homes ). When you only bid one house the profit that you need to make goes way up.

without alot questions being answered (inwhich we can go into a little later, with more time) I personally would shoot for approx 17,500. Once the questioning is complete and all the facts were in, I would give them a number a little higher than what I thought I could live with and have a little room for negotiation. Be sure they understand they can negotiate A LITTLE (ie if they provide for the ditch digging or something that dosent require a licensed electrician to do) then you will come down A LITTLE for those type of job duties, while keeping in mind your (ie 17,500) bottom line number and any change orders.
I prefer Option "A" (we do it all, except specialty chandeliers and appliances)
Option "B" (you do ditching, you buy fart fans, ceiling fans, light bulbs, under counter lights, specialty lighting fixtures and etc and we do the rest, notwithstanding opt "a" exceptions)

This is just a QUICK idea to build on...

>= $20K plus any of the following:.
Not sure of the specifics re: the service hook up.
Is this totaly new construction? If no, then there will be some demo work.
If yes, is there temp power that you need to supply?

Do a detailed take-off and use that number as the price.
As things change (not if, but WHEN) note every last change and get paid for them as well. But you must have a well documented take off for the starting point so the changes are clearly shown to you and the customer as addtional.

Good Luck.
