:) my name is steve, i am from texas , i have been working as an maintenance
electrician at a community college for 20 plus years, my understanding of the law in texas is, that i am exempt from having to be licensed.

however, i am studying now for the journeyman exam, my boss told me years ago that he was a master, but come to find out he was only a journeyman.

hence, i cannot qualify under the master requirement to test as a journeyman, any suggestions or comments would be appreciated...

ps: i stumbled on to this site googling, and i thank all of you
sirs for your expertise and valued experience.

especially mr. holt

NEIS website has a state regulations link. it appears in Texas you need 8000 hrs under the direct supervision of a master to sit in for the journeyman exam. they give 2 phone #s , maybe you can call and find out if there are any exceptions to this such as a certain # of hrs in an apprenticeship or trade school. good luck.
