Using the new requirement now allows us to use that equipment as our service with gecs coming off that gear
Then we can locate our sub panel anywhere that works. Our state of wash used to limit the length of unfused conductors to 15 inside the structure. Now if you use a fused disconnect or breaker outside you can run any length you need to the sub
Correct. Just havent done a new construction in a good long while.

Think you need to use 4/0 use instead of 3/0 for a 200 amp service though, right?

I would be willing to say your states requirement is no longer valid if you now are using an emergency disconnect with OCPD.

Code did me a favor on this cause my daughter wasnt too keen on a generator ready generac panel w/ auto transfer switch in her new bedroom. Now i can hide it most anywhere the code lets me.
