New Service to an Industrial Machine

When buying a machine from an OEM, they provide a "electrical service required" in amps or kVA. Some of the our OEMs are from Europe. Do you size the machine feed and OCPD based on this nameplate info or go to NEC 670.4? My wise old electrician tends to think they (OEMs) have already accounted for the 125% increases when they ask for a XXAmp service. I am still too new to feel comfortable with assumptions.

Wise puppy - Have a biscuit. You have chosen wisely. You are strong in the force. Your lucky number is 5. A good investment will pay dividends.

The OEM does not account for the 125% required in 670.4 when they post nameplate information. See 409.110 for what goes on the nameplate which requires "full-load current for each incoming supply circuit" which is not "service requirement for each incoming supply circuit". The OEM is not going to extend their liability by giving specifying facility design criteria. They always end at the top of their disconnect.
