I am in a commercial space and I removed all of the fluorescent lighting and used the same wiring for the that was used for the fluorescent lights. As soon as I put the light and flipped the switch it blew the bulb.

I am confused too because when the switch is off, I used the tester (the cheap pen one) the black wire is still hot on all of the 6 drops. My it’s the tester?

Also just to test things out I grab the old track lighting that I took down and was working to test on another circuit and it did the same thing.

the track lighting I got was from Lowes in the 8 foot sections and I am using that twist in connector. I test 2 of them out thinking it may be the twist in connector but I am lost for what to do next

When I turn on the switch it does give power to the gray wire. Which is what should be the white wire.
.
Any suggestions on what to try? I am going to go to lowes and buy a cheap light to see if it’s the tracks. I have even tried two different tracks.

I am lost at what to do next.
Thanks
