I recently heard from a device manufacturer that there is a new UL standard pending for GFCI's that will required a end of life indicator. this standard will be effective June 2006. I am assuming this is to indicate when the GFCI electronic protection (TVSS-MOV's) is no longer effective.
Has anyone else heard this?

Re: New UL GFCI Standard

How could that work?

How could that be meaningfully implemented? A homeowner's not going to either notice, or understand the message...?

Interesting idea though. :)
