Nick have you taken Scott Cohen's prep class ETC-NYC?
Yes I have
I have read that also and I just recently started digging into thisI have been told by several licensed electricians that his prep class is pretty much "required" if you want to pass the licensing exam.
I’m licensed in a couple of other states already but there is no reciprocity, so the hours shouldn’t be an issue. The process is very tough all I can advise is if you to for it make sure you have all the required time because they don't verify your requirements until after the testing process I know plenty of men that were denied for being a day or two short of the 7.5 years required

Really none of my business, but would you mind telling us why an Engineer for a POCO in NC would need a NY electrical license? Are you moving there?I’m licensed in a couple of other states already but there is no reciprocity, so the hours shouldn’t be an issue.
But I may very well take you up on the offer to PM with questions if you don’t mind.
I do specialty side work. Have a job that pike electric has asked me to do. Remove overhead transformers from UNDER a building along with the MV cables, and install a new CT cabinet outside. POCO there is wanting to get these out.Really none of my business, but would you mind telling us why an Engineer for a POCO in NC would need a NY electrical license? Are you moving there?
