Yesterday Washington DC was hit by a number of thunderstorms, power was out all over the city.

There was a news report this morning that a man came in contact with a power line and was electrocuted. He is recovering with no side effects???????????????????????

I'm sure the news reporter met shocked?

Re: news Reports

Actually, the reporter most likely got his information from the hospital. As an apprentice, I spent a night on heart monitor because of an electric shock. The paramedica and hospital wrote it up as "electrocution" on their paperwork. The fire marshall reported that to OSHA, who saw "electrocution" and promptly showed up to investigate a job sight death.

Re: news Reports

I, like you, have always understood it to meant death from an electric shock. and expected that there would be a death.
"To kill with electricity: a worker who was electrocuted by a high-tension wire. 2. To execute (a condemned prisoner) by means of electricity."
But I had surprised to read an article a while back that referred to an electricution where I expected that there be a death but individual was still alive.
