I read NFPA 110 "Emergency and Standby power systems". 7.2.2 mentioned that Level 1 EPSS equipment shall not be installed in the same room with the normal service equipment, where the service equipment is rated over 150 volts to ground and equal to or greater than 1000 amperes.

Does the level 1 EPSS include generator and ATS?

Any thought is appreciated.

I'm no expert, but my answers would be No and Yes, in that order. The generator is the ?EPS,? the ?emergency power source.? It is the source of power to the EPSS. The ?EPSS,? the ?emergency power supply system,? comprises all the components from the ATS down to the outlets.

I am no expert either, but my answer would be yes and yes.

I think Charlie has it right, except I think the "system" includes the "source".

Look in the front of NFPA 110, and you should find definitions for EPS and EPSS. I think they might answer your question.
