This sections pertains to RV's. It states:

"Boxes. In walls and ceilings constructed of wood or other
combustible material, boxes and fittings shall be flush with the
finished surface or project therefrom."

Reading this leads me to believe boxes made of combustible materials are OK to house electrical components in RV's. I must be missing something. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Eric this site is for electricians and related professions. The section you are reading is saying if walls & ceilings constructed of wood or combustible material is used then the boxes must be flush to the finish or project past the finished wall. If the box is set back there are device we used, called box extenders, that will make the box flush.
