NFPA 72- visible appliance table- any changes?

Hi. My client's facility has columns every 30'. The strobes are mounted every 60' and are 110 candela Simplex non-adjustable. Per NFPA 72 table 18.5.5.4.1(a), these have 54x54 coverage. Which means the whole facility has nice 6' gaps everywhere.

I'm wondering if there have been any changes to this table in the last say 20-30 years since the facility was built? Maybe the coverage/system was somehow to code back in the day? I looked back at the hard copies of the Code about 10 years and don't see any changes to visible appliance coverage. Appreciate any help.

looking in the 93 code, one 135cd device does a 60 x 60 room, or with 2 devices per room on opposite walls, 95 cd would suffice.
