Hello, I am configuring a heat and smoke detector system (named TMS, short for Temperature Monitoring System) inside a ASRS (Stacker Crane with Rack system) rack to be installed in a factory, which is similar to FACP.
It is configured as below, and individual heat and smoke detectors are configured inside the rack and connected via a repeater via RS-485, and the repeater is subordinate to the Main Control Panel of TMS. (TMS is not connected with Factory FACP.)
ASRS (Rack and Stacker Crane) <---(Connected)---> Repeater (Sub Control Panel) <--(Connected)--> Main Control Panel (TMS) <---(Not Connected)---> Factory FACP
Therefore, I have the following two questions and would like to seek expert help.
1. Is there a legal requirement that TMS be linked with the factory's FACP? (NFPA72, etc.)
2. Is there a legal requirement that TMS and heat and smoke detector in TMS must obtain UL864 certification even if TMS is not linked with the factory's FACP?
I would appreciate it if you could give me a clue to solve the above two questions.
