NFPA79. When is it mandatory to use a cable type MTW.?

Dear all.

The NFPA 79 Edition 2012 allows other cable as MTW cables. Can we now as example use a SJOOW cable in open raceways (cables are not subjected to movements?)

You have understood, I looking for more information or a best practice guide.

Can you help?

J-Luc

MTW is not a cable. It is a single conductor.

The OP sent me a PM with a link to an Alpha wire PDF showing some M/C cables in their MTW line. Not quite sure what he wants.

I am not sure if a M/C cable made up of MTW wires is OK to use in a machine or not. I think it has to be SJO or similar type cord.
