Customer is finishing half a 40 x 80 ' pole barn, with a large open space :kitchen, dining room, great room etc. Vaulted ceiling starts at 16' up to 22' in the center.
The other half, unfinished, lit up very nicely with twelve 14,000 Lum LED NICOR high bay lights. She is asking for a nicer looking, home looking alternative for the finished half. Suggestions ? Thank you!

The bolded part scares me! I would have her look for something. You don't want to pick out something, have her ok it, then install it, THEN she doesn't like them after install. She will blame you!
Only lights I will pick out for a customer is floodlights!

They were only $2,800.00 each, if she doesn't like them not that big of a deal.

;)

You say Pole barn, so sounds like NOT an older post and beam Barn? I was going to say if it is, putting lights on top of the beams shining up adds lots of nice ambient light. If it's all open with no beams, then I assume it's scissor trusses? Can you get above the ceiling to install the lights? Is she thinking like recessed lighting or pendants? Perhaps both would be nice, a bunch of recessed lighting and then a row of pendants?

Keep in mind and maybe remind her that 16-22 feet up will seldom or never get dusted and to take that into consideration in final selection.

This space will likely be somewhat more cost to heat than more conventional ceiling heights as well though that not really your concern. Might be less cost to cool in the summer though. Something to stir the air might be desirable for more comfort for both heating and cooling though.

Like a tree house or ADU, anyone can make those work, but no insurance will cover casualty claims without a C-of-O, much less if the extension-cord wiring ignites adjacent structures.

May not be common thing in your area. These kind of structures are becoming more popular around here. I've got two sort of like OP described coming up soon, and they are not finishing off an existing building they will be all new from beginning. One will be more of a vacation home and the living area rather small with a huge garage. The other is more or less two separate buildings with a smaller covered linking structure between them. Insurance probably does like that separating link as the guy will be doing commercial activities in the "shop".
