Recently I inspected an installation where the terminations were nicked - ringed by the knife that was stripping the insulation off the conductor. When I was an apprentice this was a capital offense. How does this impede or inhibit current flow? Does this create a hot spot along the conductor at this point? What can be done if the conductor is not long enough to cut and properly terminate short of repulling - or adding a butt splice with additional conductor length added at that:confused: time.

BS, welcome to the forum! :)

The concern is conductor damage, which is easier to do with aluminum.
