Just passing along some info that I received from one of our CEU providers. The list shown in the link below are Codes and Standards that NJ has adopted in September 2019. Sorry but you'll have to do your own research to find them

http://www.pceca.net/images/stories/2019_nj_adopted_codes_and_standards.pdf.

FYI, there's reference to a "link" under the electrical code section but no link was sent to me. If I get more info I'll post it.

It was adopted as of September 3, 2019, you can read the NJ specific amendments here. Scroll down to "§ 5:23-3.16 Electrical subcode"

https://www.nj.gov/dca/divisions/cod...jac_5_23_3.pdf

Thanks Rob. A lot of "scrolling" to do but as you are scrolling look at the top of your computer screen. The actual pages are 119-125. A lot easier that way.

One thing that bugs me about the way NJ does this is that they cite certain sections of the Code that they want to change or eliminate. You now have to take note of that citation and then open up your NEC Code book and actually see what was changed or eliminated. Here's an example :

5.Chapter 4 of the electrical subcode, entitled "Equipment for General Use" is amended as follows
:i.Section 406.4 (D)(4), entitled "Arc-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection," is deleted in its entirety.

Without opening up your Code book your first thought is "Wow, they eliminated arc fault detection". But that's not the case. Here's the section that was eliminated :

(4) Arc-Fault Circuit-Interrupter Protection. Where a receptacle
outlet is located in any areas specified in 210.12(A) or (B),
a replacement receptacle at this outlet shall be one of the
following:
(1) A listed outlet branch-circuit type arc-fault circuitinterrupter
receptacle
(2) A receptacle protected by a listed outlet branch-circuit
type arc-fault circuit-interrupter type receptacle
(3) A receptacle protected by a listed combination type arcfault
circuit-interrupter type circuit breaker
Exception No. 1: Arc-fault circuit-interrupter protection shall not be
required where all of the following apply:
(1) The replacement complies with 406.4(D)(2)(b).
(2) It is impracticable to provide an equipment grounding conductor
as provided by 250.130(C).
(3) A listed combination type arc-fault circuit-interrupter circuit
breaker is not commercially available.
(4) GFCI/AFCI dual function receptacles are not commercially available.
Exception No. 2: Section 210.12(B), Exception shall not apply to
replacement of receptacles
Now you have to make notes and tabs in your code book or mark up your Code book so that you are aware of the change.

Just griping out loud :-(
