Last cycle I was able to do all of my NJ Electrical Contractor CEU’s through a local company in conjunction with Mike Holt’s website. I liked doing it on the website instead of going somewhere to sit and listen so I was hoping I could do it again this coming cycle.

I’m wondering if there’s anyone here who works for Mike Holt who could tell me if they are going to offer the CEU’s directly? I know that there is currently an issue with having to go in person for some of them, but I was hoping that maybe that would change.

I don't believe that the board has accepted Mike's seminars for CEU credit. The 10 hour update is now required to be in classroomand not online. Not sure about the other 24 hours.

I assume I could do the 10 hours through a local course and then the 24 hours online if Mike Holt is offering them at the time?

This is from Mike's website. He still is not approved for the additional 24 hours but may be in the future.

New Jersey Electrical License Renewal: Electrical contractors must complete 34 hours of continuing education, which includes 9 hours of Code and 1 hour of New Jersey Laws, Rules, and Regulations by March 31st every 3 years (March 2024).
IMPORTANT: New Jersey requires the 10-Hour Code Update and NJ rules to be completed in a live class. We are working on obtaining approval for the 24 remaining hours for this state but we will not offer the 10-hour update.

The 24 hours can be online but for some reason that no one seem to know the 9 hours of 2023 update and one hour of law have to be done in person.
I think that the board really wants the 10 hours update to be in an environment where people are more apt to listen and learn. The online seminars are good but let's face it you could sleep through them if you wanted to.

We won't be using the 2023 NEC in NJ until 2026 the way this state works in adopting the code, and hopefully by then I'll be retired.

That is typical for the way our backward state works. They force us to get education on code that we won’t be using for years.

I think the reason behind this is they adopt all the codes at the same time.
