I would like input on this, right now in NJ all CEU classes need to be approved by the board correct? Say I want to take a college class that would not count towards the 24 hour CEU requirement right? I think that should be changed, if I take a class in business, accounting, college level math, or an electrical related class, I feel that time should count.

I agree that there are other areas of CE that would benefit license holders. You'll just have to convince Trenton that these other things are applicable. As of yet they're not moving in that direction.

The board of Examiners of Electrical Contractor does approve courses outside traditional NEC topics. The trouble is they have to go through the application process for approval. The board even approved a safe driving course once.

I'm sure they would approve many classes, but who wants to go through that process. It would be nice if some classes would not require approval, like classes given at colleges, vocational schools.... just seems like too much gov.
