OK. I received my NJ ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS LICENSE IN DEC OF 2006. I was told that i don't need to have the ceu's to renew my license untill the 2009-2012 period. Is this true or do i need to take some classes before march of 2009? NJ ELECTRICAL CONTRACTORS Please break this one down to me. thanks.

I received my NJ license in June 2007, and the letter that I received from the NJ Board of Electrical Contractors states the following: "Electrical Contractor's License initially received during the triennial period of April 1, 2006 through March 31, 2009, will NOT be required to complete the 34 hours of continuing education." Even though I don't have to receive the CE for my first renewal, I will have to get 34 hours in the future. Since I am licensed in many states, I deal with CE on a regular basis- but 34 hours is just plain ridiculous.
