I took the new jersey electrical contracting test on jan. 7th and was wondering how long it takes to get the results. I'm sitting on pins and needles waiting for the results, or is there a way you can find out the results :-? :-?

How do you think that you did? When I took the test many years ago I kind of knew when I walked out of the place that I passed.

I just found out the board approved me to take the test when I called them this week, I did not get my packet in the mail yet & I was wondering something. I plan on taking the test in July, does anyone know if it will still be based on the 2005 NEC and 1999 NFPA 72 Fire Code? Prometric shows these books on their site as references but I would think in 2008 with the code cycle this would change, anyone?

It'll take a few months...put it out of your mind until you recieve notification from the test agency.

NJ has NOT accepted the '08 yet.
The test can only be given on a code that has been accepted and is being enforced.

It took me at least 6 weeks to get the results. 18 months later my official license came in the mail. It was so long I had forgotten about it, I contracted all that time with that temporary paper the state sends you. The building depts laughed at the condition of the paper after a while. Always fun when they asked for my seal and out came the temp... sit tight

My information is WRONG.

Sorry for any confusion or misleading information I have offered.

The correction is:

Mrs. Cook stated that beginning with the April 2008 examination, the electrical contractor?s trade portion of the examination will be on the 2008 Code.
State Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors Minutes Page October 3, 2007

Again, my apologies.
