A good prep course. I found the alarm book to be useless on the test.

The fire alarm test is about 50% NEC 25% fire alarm code, 25% general, there will be questions on max number of bends in conduit, types of detectors, wire spacing from edge of the framing member. I'd get familair with how nfpa 72 is laid out and orginized, buy the way I felt the hardest portion of the test was the business law, which you should buy their book for

Keep in mind also that the Alarms portion of the test is not limited to fire alarms. There are also questions on burglary systems, PIR's, etc. Not many, but they are there.

Which test was harder? NJ or FL? When did you take them?

I have not take the nj test yet, (oct 2) but I feel this one will be harder because of the fire alarm, and nj law.
