I work in an automotive factory. We hang a lot of 4' flourescent light fixtures about our part inspection tabes, etc. From past practice we use NM cable connector fittings to bring a SOOW cable into the fixture, tighten it to grip it into place, and make the internal 120V power connection. I was told that NM style connectors are not to be used in an industrial environment. We do not work in a wet or hazardous area. I searched though our code book, but I haven't found anything concerning this situation. Can you give me some help to determine if this is correct use or not. Thank you for your time.
