I am doing work in a 6 story codo building.
The construction is trusses and steel beams with
5/8 sheetrock on the ceilings and 1/2 plywood for the balcony ceilings. My qustion is nm cable allowed in all these areas above the ceilings?
I would think that there is the possability of the nm sheath getting damaged as it is pulled thru
under or over the trusses. Also I do not think that the 1/2 plywood is fire rated. Am I correct or mising something?

If the trusses are wood you will be OK. Look at the first or second page of the APPROVED plan and see what the "type of construction" is. If it is 1A,1B,2A or 2B you have a problem (also I 1hr, Inr, II 1hr or 2nr). Otherwise you will be fine.

I'm sorry I missed this the first time I replied. 6 stories??? There is no way that building can be constructed non combustible. You have a type I building. Get rid of the romex.
