My garage/shop has 12 foot walls and I am currently getting ready to install overhead lighting. Under the 2020 NEC can I run the wiring in conduit from the main panel to the top of a 12 foot wall and then run unprotected NM cable along the tops of the rafters and 2X4s to the various outlet boxes? The ceiling will not be enclosed.
