Hello, I am looking for any code restrictions for having NM cable runs in contact with metal HVAC ductwork. My logic it is not good practice but is it prohibited? Now I assuming if you have increased heat due to the duct that may be an issue but if the duct is insulated this may not be an issue.

It is not an issue, and not prohibited. It's not a good idea to stretch cable tight against something sharp, but even that is technically not prohibited.

I agree but might add: look at the FPN of 250.104(B).. the CMP memebers apparently think bonding ducts is a good idea although not a requirement.
