no bulb changing

@ a industrial co. and noticed a large amount of the lights inside trying to start , clearly bulbs are at the end of their life. the company leaves it up to the workers to change the bulbs[ hps]. how long will it take before damage is done to fixture if bulbs are not replaced? i was told that the cycling can damage ballast or cap , starter.

Probably. The luminaire manuafcturer may provide some guidance on this issue, or has some installation mantenance instructions that cover this subject. Check there first.
