If you’re running Travellers between buildings on the same service in PVC and both sides are grounded do you need a ground wire in the PVC

..with a caveat. Exception No. 1 to 250.32(B)(1) allows there to not be a ground wire if the installation without it was built under governance by a previous code cycle which allowed it. If it was compliant when it was built you don't have to fix it.

If you don't include an EGC what are you going to connect to the green screw on the switches?

As in the two traveler switched conductors for, for example, walkway lighting switch controlled from two buildings?

if in fact both sides are grounded with egc, then i dont understand the question.

If you don't have an EGC in the PVC conduit you can use the EGC from the other building, assuming both buildings are on the same source.

Otherwise you need an EGC with the travelers, unless you do not have any metalic parts on that portion of the circuit.
