Hello - we recently had a customer inquire about having existing recessed lights replaced with some WAC metal recessed lights. It’s a 1940s house with Romex that does not have a ground. The new lights would require ELV dimmers. Would the dimmers work ok without a ground? Or does it make sense to run a new circuit for those lights? Thanks

If the homeowner did not want to have a new circuit because of drywall repair would you still do the job or walk away? Is there a real danger not having a ground on that circuit?

Ask yourself, if something should happen what would the light company be responsible for if a ground was not ran vs what the installation instruction say. Looks to me you would void any liability by lighting company.
