inside of my hoist electrical enclosure that houses control devices for the hoist I have the incoming primary voltage on 1/0 AWG wire that is terminated to properly sized insulated lugs that are mounted to the bottom /inside of the control enclosure. The lugs are insulated from eachother and the backing to which they mount. They are wide open on top. The enclosure door hinges at the bottom and opens from the top and swings down. Are there any regulations I should be aware of.

What kind of regulations are you concerned about? Why?

If the top of the enclosure is high enough that no one could reasonably stick their hand in it, I would not worry too much.
