As you all know the NEC code permits only 42 ways per panel. so what we could do if we need more than 42 ways? In order to use more than 42 ways we can add new section panel. However my question is do we need a separate feeder and breaker for the additional section?

The nec changed that rule and that only applied to lighting and appliance branch panelboards. There is no limit now and when you hit the magically 42 you just add another sub panel.

You can also feed a second panel from the first without any additional OCPD if the feeders between the panels are sized to the first panels OCPD.

Example: First panel has a 200A main OCPD and lugs for a feeder. You could feed a second 200A panel that main lug only with 3/0 CU and be legal. This assumes the total calculated connected load of both panels does not exceed 200 amps.

I've installed 84-space panels..... it's actually a pair of panels where one is a feed-though to the second 42-space tub.
