I own a 555sbc bender, that was not used that much. I purchased the machine in 1992. I attemped to bend some conduit last week, only to find out the bender did not work. I contacted Greenlee's service dept. Only to be told that they do not support that bender any longer and don't have replacement parts needed to repair it. The bender has a power module and a control module. there seems to be a problem in the control module. Has any one had a simliar problem, if so how can it be fixed?

Contact Current Tools. We have a 555 also and I remember when the board shorted out in it. I think it was Current Tools who had another board to sell us. They make a controller that is more dependable. Best of luck with your problem.

I just went thru the same thing. But I found Greenlee support to be pretty helpful once I got the real telephone number to the shop guys, not the nice lady in customer support (for a whole bunch of different companies by the way). However there was a replacement front control board for my 555 available for about a grand, so I sent away for it. It didn't work. So I just pulled all the boards out, and put in my own contactor system. Bender is working fine now, except it lacks that wonderful digital control pendant. My pendant is a momentary contact switch mounted in a pvc lb. I am able to bend 2" pipe again, and that is what counts.

Grainger sells the chain links. We have a deep 4" square box on the bender with spare links.
A link will break at the most inopportune time.
