Hi,
I am going to install an induction motor in a non- hazardous area and as per IEC 60034-30, I can use non-classified protection. Would it be the same in US?
I mean is there ant NEC code that I have to comply with, when I use motors at non-hazardous area?
My understanding is, weather tight protection IP55 or even IP54 would be OK?

IEC standards don't count in the US, but it is doubtful anyone would care if you used some motors with IEC ratings.

Many motors are dual rated for IEC and US markets.

This is really a design decision so ask the responsible engineer.
