What ever happened to the GFCI receptacles, with one opening having the GFCI buttons, and the other opening being a 5-15R? They fit in standard duplex faceplates. I saw them years ago on sale, but nowdays nothing but decora GFCIs now. UL ban them? not popular and discontinued? NEC change?

I don't know who the manufacturer was but they were sold by Square D during the 70s.
I have a new one in a box somewhere in the garage.
They disappeared in the early '80s. Everybody wanted duplex not singles. The remaining volume did not justify them.

I think it was about a year ago I posted about old Square D smoke detectors. What I found out while researching them was that Square D got ahold of some electronics company once upon a time in the mid to late 70's and made all sorts of gadgets. That smoke detector and the GFCI receptacle among them. The original part number for that receptacle was GFSR120-I

im thinking they dont make anything like that anymore since the electronics to meet current UL requirement would never fit in that form factor
