Non Dwelling GFCI

We only have a NEC Code book that goes back to 1993. Does anyone know when GFCI's began to be in the code for non-dwelling units?

If you are referring to 210.8 (B) Other than Dwelling units. The 93 NEC is the first time that GFCI receptacles, in non-dwelling units, is established in article 210. GFCI requirements were part of other articles before that.
