When a Fire Supression Hood (Ansul) is being installed as part of a tenant improvement, are there any requirements / minimum distances that the HVAC supply and return air registers have to be from the Hood?

That will certainly be a mechanical-code issue, not an electrical-code one.

Not sure if they'll be overkill as to an answer for your question, but they're great resources.

Access to NFPA 96 is free, but you'll see that the free version is difficult to navigate. It's a compromise document compliments of NFPA, because they can't really give it away, but they see that many will need it for minor reference.
