Non fused to fused

Recently my company purchased and installed five non-fused 100 amp 3 phase disconnects. Later it was realized that they should have been fused disconnects. Apparently the manufacturer does not provide a retrofit kit for the fuse holders. Now we have two choices ? buy all new fused discos or add a 3-pole 100 Amp fuse block (from another manufacturer) in the space under the disco mechanism. There is plenty of room. Wire from the bottom lugs of the disco to the top lugs of the fuse holder. Would this meet Code? I cannot see much difference between this method and putting the fuse block in a separate enclosure.

My first thought is how adding a fuse block would affect the listing of the existing discos that you installed.

Some manufacturers use the same enclosure for both fusible and non-fusible. Even the mounting holes are pre-tapped.
It might be simpler in the long run to buy fusible disconnects (same manufacturer), transfer the needed hardware and end up with some non-fuse for later.
