Last week I saw a card access installation where the installer ran a non plenum cable in a conduit up and out of the electrical room above a plenum ceiling over to the door that was to have all the hardware mounted on it. The conduit was left open above the door with no means of plugging the end of the conduit. The cables then broke out to all the different devices with no conduit to encase them. The cables ran a total of maybe 8' to the devices. My question is how would this pass? I thought in a plenum ceiling that this type of cable would need to be encased all the way to the point where the cable exits the ceiling. I thought that the end of the conduit would have to be sealed up as well.
