What is nonferrous EMT? Where can I find it in the code book? The job I'm working on is asking for nonferrous emt. I've never heard of it nor has anyone else I've talked to.

Thank you, J. Brooks

That would be aluminum EMT.

The NEC mentions it in 358.2, I have never seen it on the job.

I will be very surprised if its a shelf item anywhere.

I have seen it once also. When I got to the job they were chopping out all of the concrete around it. Seems another contractor ran aluminum risers before the concrete pour and at each floor about 5" of pipe was surrounded by the concrete. Can't imagine what that screwup cost someone.

Do you think that they could be asking for ent?? Aluminum is so rare we used it extensively at the many grummans plants which used 400 hertz power for some aircraft applications I only used rigid aluminum myself not emt.
